About Chi Chi Teacher

Hello! I’m originally from South Africa, and I graduated from the University of Cape Town (ranked 77th among Times Higher Education) with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English, Psychology, and Chinese.
I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), specializing in Senior Phase and FET, and I’m a certified TEFL instructor and a licensed teacher registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE). 

 

My Journey to Korea

I first came to Korea planning to stay for just two years—but I quickly fell in love with the culture and people. That short trip turned into four wonderful years teaching at middle schools in Busan.
During this time, I discovered my passion for helping students gain confidence in English, especially in speaking and communication.

 

The Start of Chi Chi’s English

While teaching, I noticed many students struggled with speaking English confidently.
In public schools, speaking classes are usually once a week with large class sizes—making it hard for students to get the individual practice they need.

That’s why I created Chi Chi’s English — a warm, focused space where students can truly practice, speak, and grow.

My mission is to help learners not only understand English, but also use it naturally and confidently in real life.
